he didn't have time to play around. he had other people in his life to worry about. he treasured the relationship with the woman that took him in, quite a bit more than the one the relationship he had with his birth mother. he did everything he could to help her and and be the man of the house since it was just them. when he was younger, he had trouble making friends. he was quickly irritated and never afraid to tell someone off it they bothered him, which scared off a lot of people. he never felt like he needed a lot of friends. he was betrayed by some of his so-called friends as a teenager, which lead to an event that got him stuck in a hospital for almost a month with physical therapy to look forward to after; a broken relationship during this time didn't help either. these things made him have some pretty bad trust issues with people and no desire to let people in, and really made him wonder what made life worth even living. the only thing that kept him from taking his own life was his mom. a couple years later when she was murdered, sidney lost a lot of faith in humanity and started keeping to himself more. he joined the drug industry as a guard to watch over the bosses and the product. this is also when his more short-tempered violence kicked in; his tolerance for people is low and he isn't afraid to pop you in the face for annoying him.HISTORY from the time sidney was born, he was bound to live a life of hardships. his mother judith was only fifteen when she had him, a baby born from rape by her step-father. she had run away after getting pregnant, terrified of her step-father's reaction; the day he was born, she begged her close friend annabelle to take him and treat him as if he were hers in order to protect him. growing up, sidney did occasionally see his mother when she was able to get the time; a pimp had taken her in, took relatively okay care of her, but she rarely got the time to see her baby boy. he only found out she was his real mother when he was fifteen, but it never changed his relationship with the family he had been raised with. when he was five, he and his mom moved out from her parents' house and into a house in a swampier area of florida, where he enjoyed catching frogs and lizards. as he grew up in that house by the swamp, he enjoyed more of the outdoors and adventure. wreslting gators with his friends, fishing, catching snakes. he often went with the neighbor on his airboat; that man was like a father figure in sidney's life, teaching him lessons though telling his life story and treating the boy like a son. the high school sidney went to was far from the best; kids bringing guns and knives to school was so normal that the faculty had turned a blind eye to it. bullying was high, but sid knew how to handle himself and wasn't afraid of a fight. he did what little jobs he could around town to help bring in some money to help his mom and brother and joined somewhat of a gang to have people to rely on and protect him and his family in the dangerous town of tweekers and gangsters... but his brothers sold him out to an opposing gang, framing him for something he didn't do, and almost got him killed after the other men tried to run him down. being stuck in the hospital was horrible; he was left to sit and think about the friends that had betrayed him, and wondering why his girlfriend hadn't even bothered to visit him... that slap in the face came when a friend did come to visit, and informed him of the girl's unfaithfulness. life had never felt so low for him and he fell into a depression where he didn't speak for a full year. thoughts of ending it all constantly filled his head, but knowing how much that would hurt his mom and brother kept him from taking action. the year of silence ended and he found a new job, one the father-figure neighbor had offered him. it was risky, and dangerous, but sidney didn't care. the town practically ran off the underground drug industry that the civilians were oblivious to and sidney wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to get the money his family needed. when he was eighteen, he found out for himself just how dangerous his job was when an opposing business burned his house to the ground, killing his mom while his brother barely made it out alive. sidney blames himself for his mom's death, constantly thinking about how he could've saved her if he had been home instead of picking up another shift guarding the warehouse. after this happened, he talked to his bosses and was able to talk them into letting him transfer to another warehouse they had in nevada; there was too much bad blood between him and a lot of the people in the small town, and he couldn't put his brother's life at risk anymore. besides, he had heard the warehouse in nevada needed more men, it was harder to protect. so he and his brother made the big move. a private lot that was far enough from the big city made him feel a little more comfortable, and he was welcomed at the new warehouse like he had always been there. while he may not have an ideal relationship with his brother and they spend most nights awkwardly eating dinner with the tv on, he's trying his best to make a life for the two of them where they can be safe and comfortable.Family judith briar, mother, 36 prostitutebruce judson-briar, father, 57, police officer annabelle lawson, adoptive mother, deceased apache, pit bull; isabelle, german sheppard LOVE LIFE being the cold and distant young man that he is, sidney tends to avoid the dating scene. it isn't that he doesn't believe in love or anything, it's just that he feels like he's a danger to people and he doesn't want to get himself attached to someone. besids, he's far too busy with his job and his brother to put much thought in dating right now. |
