Allison Alivia Gray |
[presto] Cassidy Freeman Heroes 28 Detective Straight Single Socks [/presto] | STANDARD APPLICATION LIKES & DISLIKES - Solitude, classical music, iced tea, reading, afternoon walks, rain, chess, and closure.- Chaos, uneasy feelings, research, favoritism, coffee, the news, movies, and dead cases. STRENGTHS & WEAKNESS - Perceptive, intelligent, and friendly- Unpredictable, insecure, and unforgiving ASPIRATIONS & FEARS - Solve her father’s murder, defeat her demons, and learn to truly live again- Death, resentment, and lose PERSONALITY Allison is an individual, who much like everyone else, is simply trying to make her way through life. She has her skills and a determination, and perhaps that sets her on a higher course of success, but in the end, she only means to do what is right. She has a selfless nature, and though it is often hidden behind the serious persona she tend to wear, she would much rather do work for others than herself; despite joining the force for her own gain, and agenda. It would be wrong to admit however, that she didn’t have other considerations in mind, such as preventing further murders from occurring, and allowing families to continue on without such haunting pain. She is not perfect to be sure; she can be unpredictable, mysterious, and often vague and vulgar at times, but sometimes it’s simply something she cannot ignore. Still, she is not only a woman of morals and defense; she is also, deep down, a lost soul. She hides it well, but it cannot be ignored. It creeps out sometimes and her thoughts are able to wander with nothing to keep them away - work normally does the trick - and she is then forced to deal with an overwhelming sensation of pain. It often shuts her down for a time, as she remembers the events of many years past, and in that time she stays in seclusion, wrapping herself up in consuming emotions, better left unseen by the world. It could be depression perhaps, but somehow, it almost seems deeper than that, and nothing can stop it but time itself, and Allison own desires to move past what has been done. HISTORY Allison Alivia Gray, has always had, what she considers, to be a life of adventure that never ceases to play many different cards. It all started on a cool afternoon in July of 1987 when she was born to Dalton and Beverly Gray – a young successful couple, just trying to make their way in the chaos of Arcadia. They succeeded in their endeavors, and with them, so did young Allison. She grew up having a range of opportunities presented to her, some required and others slowly growing interests, but through every element, she found herself succeeding; determination was the key. She didn’t know it then, and it wouldn’t come into play for many years, but she always had a soft spot for discovery, for learning things that were often meant to stay hidden. It was almost and obsessive quality, always wanting to know what layers should uncover from such simple things. She grew out of it in time, around the years of her early schooling, when she took a fond interests in simply spending time with friends, and consuming the knowledge that was presented to her each day. She loved school, much more than her fellow companions, and worked to succeed in every class she was given. However, she was never the kind to place grades above friendship, or even, hold distaste for those of lower standards or class; she had a love for everyone, and she had many friends because of it. For years, she had what many considered a simple and easy life; everything seemed perfect, and though she would never admit it, she would agree. However, perfection did not exist, and life could never stay on the path of something that was not real; it would break eventually. At the age of sixteen, her life took a drastic turn, when her father was murdered – right in front of her. She blames herself for the event, assuming that if she wasn’t out past curfew, her father wouldn’t have been up waiting, and certainly wouldn’t have been standing out in the open, in full view, for the killer to take down. She never knew why exactly her father was killed that night, there was never any evidence to give to suggestion; the police, with their experience, could never determine the cause. Somehow though, Mercedes’ had grave feeling that it was more than an accident, that the entire thing was planned, that her father had been targeted. Several weeks later, she swore to her father’s grave that she would solve his murder. From that moment, pushing everything aside that she had worked so hard to accomplish, she made it her goal to become a leading detective in Arcadia’s law enforcement branch. Bring her old obsession to life once more. Through the next decade, she worked extensively to accomplish her goal; finishing high school with straight A’s, receiving admission to a high rated college, and graduating with several degrees. In that time, she prepared herself through study, physical activity, training in the use of various weapons, and more. However, among her accomplishments, there were also many failures. She became so consumed by her desires, that in time, she slowly lost not on herself, but those around her. It was not that they left, but instead, that she simply pushed them away, feeling as if they would only distract her from the matter at hand. The only one who refused to leave her side, and take no for an answer, was her longtime friend Jeremiah; he has been by her side ever since. She was accepted to the force only mere weeks after graduating, and began her work as an officer; she moved up to the detective position five years later. Right after, she legally changed her name from Allison to Mercedes, knowing full well that Allison had died the same night as her father, and she had been a different person ever since. With a new identity, and the completion of a long term goal, Mercedes began the next step in her planned process; solve the murder, and put the killer behind bars. It was a matter she was still working to conclude all while dealing with her demons. Family Father, Marshall Dalton Gray, deceased; murderedMother, Beverly Danielle Gray, 51, Fashion Designer Sister, Jennifer Anne Gray, 22, College Student Pet, Cat, Melody LOVE LIFE For most of her life, Mercedes’ has had very little experience with love. When she was younger, in high school, she always believed that dating at such a young age was pointless; there were more important matters to consider, and she didn’t need the distraction. After the tragic event that killed her father, she felt much the same, determined to solve the case beyond anything else. However, when she reached adulthood, she realized that she couldn’t sacrifice everything for the sake of desire. She had a few boyfriends here and there, though the relationships were never serious, and as much as she tried, she could never truly love them. She was just too lost in the past, and herself, to allow for such emotions. So, all the relationships ended eventually, and she quickly moved on, never allowing herself to mourn the good times. Since the conclusion of her last relationship, she has taken a break from dating, and decided that sometimes it’s just better to be alone. She hopes one day though, when everything is said and done, when the book of her past has been finished and closed, that she can truly learn to love again – perhaps, even, finding that one special someone. |
