Smoking weed and staying high, partying till late at night; 'cause all we do is drink, all we do is smoke, and all we're doing is wastin' time.
dallas had just gotten done wasting his time by dealing drugs, and he was ready to just let loose. he had made plans with his middle sister to go out to a bar and hang out for a bit and talk. it had been quite some time since he had even seen his sister, but even longer since they had deliberately made plans for just the two of them to go out together. they both were busy with their lives so it was understandable that there was rare chances for them to hang out, but it was never acceptable his ole dally's eyes. he loved his sisters to death and would do anything for them, but he never got much of a chance to see them anymore. he had his own life that he was sometimes caught up in way too much, so it was hard for him to bring the proper attention to certain parts of his life. he had times where one week where he'd be highly influenced by drugs and alcohol and then the next he wouldn't be as highly influenced. in these weeks, he wouldn't put much effort in work and would only have one thing on his mind. not the greatest lifestyle, obviously, and many people even wondered how he was even still alive. even he wondered this.
he knew he needed to change his life, but it was so hard for him to say goodbye. he had spent over ten years doing all of this shit, and he was beyond addicted. it all start out with just having fun and partying, but it then became a crush to numb his pain and emotions... now? well, now its just habit and its hard to cope without. it was just something that helped get him through his days, but if he didn't quit it soon, he knew it wasn't going to end well. all the drugs and alcohol were going to catch up with him and pay a pretty big toll on him and he wasn't quite ready for that to happen. was he motived to actual start this process? well, no. not necessarily. its a difficult process and he wasn't quite ready to give it up.
he pulled up to the bar and parked his car before heading inside in search for rian. okay, so, he showed up later than they had planned, but was that really anything new? he was always late. he spotted her sitting at a bar stool, talking to the bar tender and headed in her direction. he lightly bumped her with his elbow to get her attention and sat down on the stool beside her, "hey you." he ordered a drink from the bartender and took a swig from it before he turned back to his sister. "What's been going on, huh?" he questioned her, casually. as protective as he was over his sisters, he was never really invested in what they were doing or who they were seeing. he felt like it wasn't his business unless they filled him in on it and made it his business. he didn't get involved until asked or until completely necessary. it was their lives and he was going to let them live it how they damn well please.

[/presto] | the city was cold and doused in fog as rian walked the streets toward the bar from the club. she had been stuck with the day shift after one of the girls had called off sick. the day shift wasn't one many people wanted; fewer people came in and less money was spent, which meant you walked out with a smaller stack of bills than you would during the night shift. either way, she was glad to have some of the extra cash so she could spend it at the bar with her brother. dallas was full blood to her and she didn't know what she would do without him in her life. he was her protector and her rock, just like elena was. rian was the same for them; they all protected each other and they would all die for each other if it came down to it. they were all each other had, the ragtag gang of misfits.
people knew not to mess with her. having grown up in arcadia since birth, she had made a new for herself. yes, she was a stripper and a prostitute (she didn't bother using the politically correct terms of exotic dancer or female escort; she knew what she was and found it pretentious to call herself anything else) and most people found them to be weak little girls, but rian was far from weak. she wasn't afraid of a fight if it came to it and she would definitely hold her own. besides, if anyone dared to mark her in anyway, the pimp responcible for her would definitely have something to say about it.
upon walking into the bar she had spent much time in, even before she was of legal drinking age, she waved at a couple of the bartenders she knew and walked up to the bar. "hey lijah, how're they hangin's?" she slid into a barstool and smiled at the man. they chatted for a bit and a man across the bar bought a drink for her, making this night already shaping up to be a good one. "hey, have you seen my brother? i thought i was late but i guess i'm not as late as he is." the man shook his head before moving over a couple seats to help another patron. she looked at the time on her phone and shrugged. dallas was rarely on time for anything.
after a few more minutes of casual chatting with her friend, she felt someone nudge her. she looked over at him as he order his drink. "you're late." she took a dainty sip from her drink and stared at him. rian cast a shrug at his question. "same old, same old." she generally wasn't one to share information about her life with others unless it was worth sharing. idle gossip and small talk was for the birds and she really found them both quite painful in conversation. "what about you?"
she shared her brother's habits. drinking and drugs and sex... the only difference was which one she was paid for. her dealt drugs, she sold her body. he also hated his job while she liked hers. no, maybe she didn't love being a prostitute, but a stripper? she loved that job. she knew both had a time limit before no one would want to see her naked body, but that was a long time off and she wasn't going to concern herself with that issue quite yet. for now, she was just going to enjoy her prime.

Smoking weed and staying high, partying till late at night; 'cause all we do is drink, all we do is smoke, and all we're doing is wastin' time.
did he know about his sister's source of income? yes, of course. did he approve of it? oh, hell no he didnt. he was far from approving it, but it was her own choice and he wasn't going to demand her to stop if it was something she enjoyed doing. she could take care of herself if she ever ran into any problems. he didn't really have an room to speak on this type of deal, though, because he was in fact drug dealer. did rian approve of that? probably not. one wrong move could potentially get dallas severely injured, if not killed. is that something she liked knowing could happen to her big brother? definitely not. so, while they weren't very approving over each other's career choices, they didn't really spend too much time discussing the situation. they pretty much kept it to themselves unless something was truly bothering them, which was pretty rare.
dallad never really opened up about dealing. he hated the fact that he even did that as a job and talking about it made him feel even worse about it. yeah, his choice as a kid to enter the drug business was dumb as fuck and he regretted it more than a lot of things. but, it was an easy source of income and didn't require a lot of much knowledge. you just had to know how to hold your own and know some basic street knowledge. some common sense as well. he knew all about street smarts considering he basically lived out on the streets most of his life. besides being an easy source of getting money, it was also an easy way of obtaining drugs for himself.
"yeah?" he questioned, raising a brow at her, "you seem surprised." dallas hardly ever decided to show up on time. he really didn't care. he just kind of showed up whenever he pleased - sometimes without invitation or even notice. "'bout the same," he grumbled before taking another swig from his drink, "you know the story." he glanced around the bar for a little bit before returning his attention to his sister, slightly disappointed. the lack of talent at the bar concerning women was incredibly dissatisfying. "anything new and exciting happen as of lately?" he questioned her. she knew that she wasn't a fan of small gossip, but he felt, as this point, what else was he going to say to her other than small conversation?
"did you already eat before you got here or you wanna head out in a bit and grab a bite with me?" he questioned her after his stomach grumbled, "i'll buy." he realized he hadn't eaten much today and pizza sounded like an absolutely amazing idea right now. even if she had already eaten before hand, he still would've dragged her along with just because... hey, free pizza on her side, so how could you deny such a grant idea? he reached for the basket of peanuts on the bar and began cracking the shells open and popping the peanut in his mouth, washing it down with his beer.
